OneWorld UnityBridge - Bringing People Together

Our Story

Stories Unite! is one of our flagship programmes, offering refugees a chance to share their stories, express vulnerability, and find healing through connection. We believe that storytelling is not only therapeutic, but it also builds emotional intelligence and resilience. By diarising experiences of racism, bullying, or other challenges, participants are empowered to find the positives in difficult situations. This program encourages a full-circle (360) reflection on their experiences, helping individuals learn, grow, and prepare for a brighter future as they integrate into their new lives in the UK.

Sharing without judgement, connecting hearts and minds, and finding strength in vulnerability is what Stories Unite! is all about. It’s a powerful journey that helps individuals reclaim their narrative and start anew with confidence.

ROSCA: Building Financial Independence

 Volunteer Lead-Amina Farah
We also support a Rotating Savings and Credit Association (ROSCA), known as Sandooq (meaning contribution)  in most African countries, run and managed by refugees themselves. This informal savings group helps participants develop financial independence and build savings while creating a supportive network within the community. OneWorld UnityBridge CIC is currently in discussions with Bloom Money on a partnership for digitising our Sandooq.

We’re thrilled to be working with the City of Sanctuary to establish Stockport City of Sanctuary. Through this exciting partnership, we will launch the Stockport Multi-Agency Drop-In at Tiviot Dale Methodist Church. This will be a safe and welcoming space where refugees and migrants can access a range of services to support their integration.
